Offcuts
Know what is still on the rack, and where.
What it is for
A good offcut that nobody can find gets ordered again. Offcuts keeps your stock: section, length, weight and its spot on the rack. The cutting plan uses those offcuts first.
Where to find it
Calculator → Offcuts, or straight from the cutting plan with "Process offcuts".
Step by step
Book offcuts from the cutting plan
After a cutting plan, tap "Process offcuts". For each leftover you choose KEEP or RECYCLE. The app makes a suggestion.
Say where it is
With KEEP you enter the spot, for example "rack A, outside left". That way a colleague finds it too.
Or add one yourself
In Offcuts, tap "Add offcut": section, length and spot.
Let the cutting plan use them
A new cutting plan looks in stock first. A used offcut disappears from the list on its own.
Worked example: Reusing an HEA 200 offcut
The railing cutting plan left 3590 mm of HEA 200. You put it in stock.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Process offcuts | HEA 200 · 3590 mm → KEEP, rack A |
| New job | You need 1 × 3000 mm HEA 200 |
| Cutting plan | Cuts it from the offcut: nothing new to order |
Tips for the best result
- The app suggests recycling offcuts shorter than 0.3 m, or much shorter than your shortest piece. You always decide.
- Each offcut shows which project it came from and since when it has been in stock.
- Search stock by section, for example "tube 40".
